It’s almost November, and plans have been made, chapters organised, characters named, plot points refined, and deaths planned. The insanity that is NaNoWriMo is almost upon us, and the keyboard has been primed for the many thousands of words that will be churned out during November. Back up plans have been made in case I suddenly find myself wanting to write something completely different. The characters now have names, backgrounds, personalities, and looks. They are all well aware of the many deaths that I am planning, and which members of their family, friends, or village that I am planning on killing.
But there are still three days to go. Three whole days and whatever happens to be left of today. And there is still so much to do! So far the pre NaNo to do list has hit approximately 35,000 words, and that’s just the coursework and fanfiction updates for next month. Not to mention the housework, cooking, and other bits that are still to be completed. All in the name of gaining as much free time during November as possible.
There will be weekly updates on here, with all the details, how far along I am, and how the word counts are coming. Also how many times I have broken down, gone insane, and been to the verge of giving up and back.
So for all of you who are also embarking on this insanity, good luck! Keep writing, and remember, for one month only, it’s the quantity not the quality, so lock up your inner editor and write as much as you can, even if at times it doesn’t make any sence.

Just a quick note to let you know that there are two new stories over on FictionPress.

Going Home:

A short story about a faerie who has been away from home for far too long, and her return to the place that she loves.

A young Roman soldier walking the wall sees something that he doesn’t agree with and takes matters into his own hands.

Just click on the titles to hop on over and have a read.

Good Evening.

Two pieces of news today. Firstly, though, an apology. It has been a while cine I updated the blog, but due to hospital visits and being ill, I haven't had a lot of time of late.

So, onto the first part of the news. November is fast approaching, bringing with it the madness that is NaNoWriMo and the attempt of writing 50,000 words in 30 days. You don't have to be mad to give it a go, but it certainly gives you an advantage. Anyone can join, just click the link above, and sign up. There are even prizes if you manage to get to the 50,000 words in a month.

As I'm sure you have realised, NaNoWriMo is something that I will be participating in. It will be my second year, and I am hoping to surpass my first year's attempt, which ended at 150,000 words. I certainly have a touch of the madness on my side. This year I also have a more portable laptop, so I can write a little easier on trains and buses when I decide to go to the write-ins.

This year's initial NaNo project is called Annabella Rose, and will be book 5 in The Last Keeper series. The synopsis is up on my NaNo profile page and there will be a little look at the book once NaNo gets going and I have actually written something.

Secondly, Books 4 is almost finished. It still doesn't have a name, and is only on the first draft, but it is almost there. I am hoping to get it finished before NaNo kicks off, so that I can then leave it alone for a good few months before commencing with the rewrite.

During NaNo you can expect more regular updates on here. I'll be updating with a new entry every week, including information on how the word count is going, how the word wars are progressing, and generally how the madness has made me neglect anything and everything that doesn't involve putting more words down in my file.

If there are any NaNoers in Hartlepool, I should also be organising another get together during NaNo for anyone who wants to come along. Even if you aren't participating, feel free to come along and witness the insanity first hand.
